I was struggling with long covid symptoms for many years, and didn’t feel like anything would help. Allow me a bit of history before I review the technology Premier Holistic Wellness offers at the facility here in Iowa City.

I met Eric a few years ago when we were referred to FTS Therapeutic Massage by a friend.  My wife is an intractable pain person and we understood that Eric had the skill and knowledge to relieve some of her pain through massage.  His help opened doors to additional avenues for my wife and, as it turned out later, for me as I developed severe back pain, resulting in a laminectomy.

Recently my wife had surgery resulting in diminished back pain but, unfortunately, severe leg pain. After months of waiting for an appointment with her surgeon, the conclusion of our visit was that the surgeon felt she needed “a better physical therapist”.  The physical therapist she had used was by all standards very good and had helped her in the past but was stumped as to how to alleviate her current leg problems.

On the way home from the surgeon’s appointment, we both thought of Eric. My wife texted him for his opinion and to see if there was anything he could do to help. As is Eric’s norm, he asked her to come to his clinic, now located within a new facility;  Premier Holistic Wellness. This was how we both were introduced to the new technology Eric offered as part of his new tool bag of advanced technology.

Last year, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and was struggling with taking the medication I may have to be on for the rest of my life. I had a discussion with Eric and he offered me an explanation of this technology and how it may alleviate some of the symptoms. My hope was to lessen the dosage of medication necessary, or possibly quit taking the medication all together.

First, Eric had me sit in a comfortable recliner with an overhead array of tubes that, when turned on, the machine gave me the sense of an impending summer storm with the faint spell of ozone. The machine is called; Zero Point Plasma Ion Session or ZPPIS for short and I spent 50 minutes reading as I relaxed. After the ZPPIS session I sat in a chair and put my feet on the plate of their Radio Frequency Detox Foot Bath for 30 minutes and got some further reading done in the relaxed atmosphere.

The first week I came in twice and the same in the second week. But after discussions with Eric and a fellow user of the system, they both encouraged me to come more often to take advantage of the wellness properties of the two machines. So, for the last three weeks, I have come as many times during the week as possible and I have concluded that the technology works in some ways I would never have believed.

After the third week, Eric asked how I felt after my session and I told him I felt better than I did before coming in that day.  And the next morning, as I dressed for the day, I found that I did not have to find something substantial to lean on as I stood on one foot to dress.  My sense of balance was not great, but I had not been able to stand on one foot to dress for years.  I was surprised and the only thing I could attribute my ability to better balance were my sessions at Premier Holistic Wellness.

Another smaller but, by my standards, interesting perk is that during and after each session my Tinnitus, which has been with me for much of my adult life, was silent.  It comes back in full force later but at least for a while my world is quiet in my head.  

I will continue to utilize the technology at Premier Holistic Wellness and am thankful each time I step into this good place of business.
